The best of the few places to stay, the Edwardian Inn , 317 Briscoe St, on the main highway into town north of the Mississippi Bridge (tel 870/338-9155 or 1-800/598-4749, fax 870/338-4215, ; $75-100), is an opulent B&B with large wood-paneled rooms, slightly marred by views from the front over a chemical plant on the river. For food , Pasquale's , 211 Missouri St, opposite the cultural center (tel 1-800/390-3992), serves nationally marketed homemade tamales.
