The area around Flagstaff is extraordinarily rich in natural and archeological wonders, with three national monuments - Sunset Crater, Wupatki and Walnut Canyon - within 25 miles. Of these, only Sunset Crater has even a campground, and none has indoor lodgings. There's no scheduled public transportation, so if you don't have your own vehicle you'll have to take a guided tour.
