Due to the canyon's remoteness and lack of water, food prices tend to be well above average; if you're on a tight budget, bring your own. However, Yavapai and Maswik lodges have reasonable basic caféterias, open until 10pm. Bright Angel Lodge has its own restaurant , as well as the Arizona Steakhouse , both also open until 10pm, and both costing $15-30. At El Tovar , where the dining room looks right out over the canyon, the sumptuous menu is enormously expensive. Breakfast is the most affordable meal; lunch and dinner can easily cost upwards of $40. In Tusayan , We Cook Pizza & Pasta (tel 928/638-2278) is good but pricey.
