Nestled amongst tall pines and aspens, the Black Dog Inn Bed & Breakfast is located on one acre in Estes Park, Colo., overlooking Lumpy Ridge, Mummy Mountain Range, Mt. Olympus and the Estes Valley. A paved footpath in front of the inn leads to shopping and dining in the village of Estes Park less than one mile away, and connects with the scenic River Walk and a four-mile path around Lake Estes. The Stanley Park Fairgrounds are one-half mile away. Lake Estes and the Estes Park Golf Course are less than one mile from the inn. The southeast entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is three miles away.
This Arts and Crafts style inn was built in 1910. Complimentary three-course breakfasts are served each morning, featuring specialties such as Maple Streusel French Toast, apple herb sausage and cheddar-cheese scones. The inn also offers homemade cookies, afternoon tea, and a candy and soft drinks honor bar. Dinner is available upon request. The Sundance Mountain suite features an antique, hand-carved walnut bed, see-through fireplace wall, an oversized marble shower, private entrance and a sitting area with bay windows and mountain views. The Mummy Mountain suite's jetted tub overlooks a sunken living room, and the suite features a private entrance and redwood deck. The Mount Olympus cabin offers a Victorian-style iron bed and bedding, with a jetted tub in the bedroom. The Snow Drift Peak suite opens into the main lodge, but also has a private entrance. This suite is decorated in the Arts and Crafts style, with an antique walnut bed, sitting area with a library and an oversized marble shower.
