Found just off Boston Post Road, the Captain Stannard House is the perfect location for a private getaway. The spacious common areas, lovely gardens, peaceful dining room, and charming guest rooms were designed to give guests the relaxing, rejuvenating vacation they deserve. Located midway between New York City and Boston, and only one hour from Hartford, with tons of local attractions both on the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, the Captain Stannard House is the perfect place to stay. With items such as a telephone, TV and VCR, CD player, fireplace, high speed Internet access, refrigerator, desk, newspaper, and coffee located in the giant common area, guests have all they need right at their finger tips. The inn has eight guest rooms, all with private baths and individually decorated. A full breakfast is served every morning at a table for two, with lighted candles to set the mood.
