Located midway between New York City and Boston, and only one hour from Hartford, with tons of local attractions both on the Long Island Sound and the Connecticut River, the Captain Stannard House is the perfect place to stay. With items such as a telephone, TV and VCR, CD player, fireplace, high speed Internet access, refrigerator, desk, newspaper, and coffee located in the giant common area, guests have all they need right at their finger tips. The inn has eight guest rooms, all with private baths and individually decorated. A full breakfast is served every morning at a table for two, with lighted candles to set the mood.

Take some time to do some shopping. There are plenty of stores and outlet malls to browse and wander around in such as Mystic Factory Outlets and Clinton Crossings. During the evening, head out to a vineyard for some wine tasting and then to the theater to see a play. For the outdoorsmen, there are many activities to do such as biking, boating, fishing, golfing, hiking, kayaking, and sightseeing the many historic sites.
