Location. Located within a walled courtyard on the narrow, brick-paved streets of St. Augustine, Fla., the Casa de Solana is situated in the historic district within walking distance to restaurants, museums, galleries, antique shops, historic sites and shopping. The Ximenez-Fatio House, a museum house constructed circa 1798, is directly across the street. Popular family attractions within two miles include Potter's Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

Hotel Features. This inn, built in the early 1800's, is one of St. Augustine's oldest residences. Located on a large corner lot and surrounded by historical homes, the inn features tropical gardens, a private walled courtyard and a city-view second floor balcony. The Inn's new de Palma building, which was named after one of the inn's early owners, offers meeting and function space, with modern comforts hidden behind historic decor and old-fashioned ambience. Full breakfasts are served daily and include two hot entrees, freshly baked pastries, fresh fruit and special blend Inn coffees. The Inn offers an evening social for meeting other guests over complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres. Guests also have access to the outdoor pool at St. Francis Inn, and a nearby fitness center.

Guestrooms. Casa de Solana features ten guestrooms and suites, each with cable televisions, telephones, modem hook-ups and private bathrooms. Eight of the ten accommodations have fireplaces, and most have jetted spa tubs, writing desks and refrigerators. Suites have a sofa bed in the living area.

Expert Tip. Guests can book a carriage ride for two right at the Casa de Solana. For $75 (subject to change), guests receive a horse-drawn carriage tour through the Old City, complete with colorful historic stories.
