Location. Boasting a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico, this condo resort in Sanibel, Fla., offers guests easy access to the gulf. A private boardwalk leads directly onto what is said to be one of the best shelling beaches in the country. There are two 18-hole golf courses within one mile of the resort, and water sports, deep-sea fishing charters, and sailing are available nearby. Art galleries, casual and gourmet restaurants and shopping are within walking distance.
Hotel Features. Sanibel Arms West is comprised of 13 two-story buildings on six acres of tropical landscaped grounds. A 500-foot private beach stretches along the south side of the resort, and swimming is available on site at the resort's own screened-in heated freshwater pool. A clubhouse, rooftop sun deck with patio furniture, boat dockage, barbecue area and two all-weather tennis courts are available on site. An expansive collection of videos and DVDs are available for rental. There is a centrally-located community laundry room on site.

Guestrooms. The two-bedroom, two-bathroom condos offered at Sanibel Arms West have separate living, dining, and sleeping areas and feature fully equipped electric kitchens. The condos are over 1,000-square- feet, and have private balconies or screened-in porches. All units are equipped with cable television.

Expert Tip. The Sanibel Historical Society has produced a two and one-half mile historical walking and biking tour that travels around the oldest parts of Sanibel Island. Maps are available at the Chamber Visitor Center or at the Sanibel Historical Village on the east end of the island.
