Location. Alexander Homestead B&B is located on a quiet residential street between the Matanzas and San Sebastian Rivers in historical St. Augustine, Fla., two blocks north of Flagler College. This bed and breakfast is only about three blocks from the historic district, making most of the sights and restaurants an easy walk. One half-mile away on King Street is a slew of museums, including Ripley's Believe It Or Not, Potters Wax Museum and the Museum of Weapons & History.
Hotel Features. This 1888 Victorian inn mixes family heirlooms with a collection of St. Augustine antique furnishings. An old-fashioned garden walkway leads to a front porch. Classical music plays softly in a formal living room, complemented with dark-colored walls and a flickering fireplace. A complimentary full breakfast, including country French apple casserole, strata, French toast, homemade muffins and homemade granola, is served daily. The innkeeper offers early morning silver coffee service, and complimentary sodas, beer and wine are available at all times.

Guestrooms. Each guestroom at this bed and breakfast has a private bathroom, some with jetted spa tubs. Four of the rooms have their own private porches, and two rooms feature wood-burning fireplaces or private sitting rooms. Complimentary Whetstone Chocolates of St. Augustine are included, as are herbal bath grains and glycerin soap.

Expert Tip. The town of St. Augustine boasts 43 pristine miles of beaches. There's a beach for every personality, with some permitting vehicles while others allow only pedestrians, and some offering abundant shelling opportunities, with others covered only in sand.
