Location. The Larelle House Bed and Breakfast is located in the historic Old Northeast residential district of St. Petersburg, Fla. The bed and breakfast is one block from the waterfront, and two blocks from the shops, restaurants and bustling nightlife of downtown. The Baywalk, North Shore Park, Vinoy Park and St. Petersburg Pier are within one mile.
Features. This two-story Queen Anne is fronted by a custom wrought-iron gate, manicured lawn and a wide veranda furnished with Florida-style wicker furniture. The bed and breakfast serves complimentary hot breakfasts Friday through Sunday, and continental breakfasts Monday through Thursday. Evening wine and cheese receptions are offered daily in the parlor. Soft drinks and homemade goodies are available 24 hours a day. The inn is equipped with complimentary wireless Internet access, and offers printing, fax, photocopy and scanning services. A custom in-ground hot tub is contained in a Grecian gazebo crowned with flowering bougainvillea. Bicycle rentals and concierge services are available. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. The Larelle House Bed and Breakfast offers four guestrooms furnished with period antiques. All accommodations are located on the second floor, and feature private bathrooms with tub/shower combinations. The Longley Room features a carved mahogany bed and an antique armoire containing a television and DVD player. The Hemingway Room, tucked in the back corner of the house, offers access to an open-air porch, and features an Old Florida motif with a secretary desk, antique manual typewriter and an iron bed draped with netting.
Expert Tip. The Larelle House was constructed in 1908 by Nimrod Longley, a hardware salesman turned investor and esteemed town visionary, for his new bride, Anne. Guests may visit their gravesites in the Greenwood Cemetery, located in Roser Park.
