The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a true landmark hotel - with a tradition of uniqueness and service goes back to the 19th century. Originally built as an exclusive island getaway for the likes of William Rockefeller and J.P. Morgan, this Victorian-era resort was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1978. Restoration during the 1980s established the resort as a historic hotel with modern amenities in unspoiled natural surroundings. The hotel consists of three main buildings surrounded by landscaped grounds in the center of the Jekyll Island Historic District. Period furnishings and ornate woodwork inside complement the atmosphere created by an exterior tower, bay windows, and verandas. Several boutiques and collectible shops now operate on site. Business facilities include eight meeting rooms and a ballroom for 150. The hotel also offers complimentary transportation throughout the island.
Careful renovations to the hotel have left its ambiance and tradition intact, while offering guests the contemporary comforts and conveniences. The accommodations have a traditional décor and modern amenities. Room service is available from 7am to 10pm.
