Location. McMillan Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in National Historic District in Savannah, Ga., two blocks from the 30-acre Forsyth Park. Historic houses within one mile include the Andrew Low House, Davenport House Museum and the Owens-Thomas House. The bed and breakfast is approximately one mile from River Street, which offers a variety of shops and restaurants along the Savannah River.
Features. This restored Italianate Revival town house was built in 1888, and features period antiques and furnishings in the common areas. Complimentary gourmet breakfasts are served each morning on a French burled olive ash table in the main dining room. A CD library is provided. The inn's front veranda features wicker furniture and a porch swing. A courtyard includes gardens, a cherub fountain and a small, rectangular dipping pool. The innkeepers' small dogs, Skittle and GiGi, come and go in the courtyard from the owner's garden apartment below the inn, but are never guests inside. Other pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. The McMillan Inn Bed & Breakfast boasts four guestrooms with private bathrooms. Bathrooms contain claw-foot "slipper tubs," two-person jetted tubs or oversized showers. All accommodations feature gas fireplaces, antiques and artwork. Coffeemakers and mini fridges stocked with complimentary soft drinks and bottled water are provided. The Huntingdon Room and Lincoln Room offer four-poster canopy beds. All rooms include cable television.

Expert Tip. Nearby Forsyth Park features war memorials, a garden, and a white fountain designed to resemble the grand fountain at the Place de la Concorde in Paris. A 19th-century building housing a historical collection of artifacts and manuscripts. A shady jogging path and tennis courts are available to visitors. Outdoor plays and concerts are held on the park's former parade grounds.
