Location. Across from a breakwater portion of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa stands one block from open-air shopping at the International Market Place and five blocks from the Kapiolani Park, housing the historic Diamond Head and Honolulu Zoo wildlife. The three-story open atrium of this hotel boasts more than 60 shops and restaurants offering oceanfront views and surrounded by tropical plants and waterfalls adorning the lobby's interior. Expert Tip. I felt like a native Hawaiian at the torch-lighting ceremony, held across the street from the hotel on the Kuhio Beach coast. The ceremony takes place at sunset by the base of Duke Kahanamoku's statue, a tribute to the islands' renowned surfer.
