Location. Aqua Island Colony is located across from the popular Ala Wai Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii. The resort offers spectacular views of the ocean, mountains, and city. The Waikiki Shopping Plaza is five blocks from the property, and there are numerous restaurants and entertainment venues on Kuhio Avenue, two blocks away.
Features. The black-tiled lobby is decorated with orchids and palms and overlooks the Ala Wai canal. On the sixth floor there is a large sundeck with a pool, sauna, jetted tub and picnic tables. Massage therapy is available on site. There is a sundries shop, along with a video store that rents VCRs and movies.

Guestrooms. Accommodations at Aqua Island Colony are air-conditioned and feature tastefully decorated furnishings and private lanais. Each unit includes a private bath, in-room safe, cable television, and vanity. The rooms also have balconies, coffeemakers, desks and refrigerators.

Expert Tip. Although Waikiki has countless tourist attractions and activities, the island of Oahu has a lot to offer travelers outside of the square-mile of Waikiki. For example, guests can relive the romance of Pan-Am's famous "China Clipper" flying boats when they departed from historic Keehi lagoon. All flights are pilot-narrated with a two-way intercom that allows tourists to converse along the way, and each passenger has a window seat. Guests can utilize the activities desk to book tours, and many of the tours offer complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the sites.
This hotel's pool, spa, and deck are closed for renovations until late October 2006 (completion dates subject to change).
