For 40 years, this Southwest Side club has been full of locals doing the polka, two-step and the occasional tango.Fitzgerald's 6615 W Roosevelt, Berwyn tel 708/788-2118. Excellent venue for alternative country, Americana, Cajun and zydeco in the western suburb of Berwyn.
Old Town School of Folk Music 909 W Armitage Ave - and now a second location for concerts at 4544 N Lincoln Ave at W Montrose Ave tel 773/728-6000. Established in 1959, this place presents about 80 concerts a year, including just about every type of folk.
Schuba's 3159 N Southport Ave at Belmont Ave tel 773/525-2508. Some of the best alternative country and roots revival bands play this likeable bar at weekends.
