Hotel Features. The 1926 Ambassador East Hotel's ongoing fame is attributable mainly to the Pump Room restaurant and lounge, attracting  the likes of Frank Sinatra, Richard Gere, Judy Garland and Liza Minelli since opening in 1938. Lining the stairway to the restaurant are photos of visiting celebrities who often sit in Booth One, catering to numerous parties including the wedding celebrations of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Chefs here prepare French-inspired specialties such as Stuffed Pumpkin Gnocchi, Muscovy Duck and Seared Butterfish, all offset by an extensive wine list. Coffee and tea are complimentary each morning and live jazz is hosted on the weekends at the Pump Room.

The hotel features 8,900 square feet of event space and a business center offering notary public and translation services. Fitness facilities host cardiovascular and strength-training equipment and an adjacent sun room. Private in-room workout kits are available upon request.
