Bloomington's friendly visitor center can be found at 2855 N Walnut St (tel 812/334-8900 or 1-800/678-9828, ).The best budget place to stay in central Bloomington is the Motel 6 - Bloomington University , 1800 N Walnut St (tel 812/332-0820; $35-50), or there's the central Victorian Grant Street Inn , 310 N Grant St (tel 812/334-2353, ; $130-160). The Indiana Memorial Union on Seventh and Park (tel 812/856-6381), a good source of campus information, also offers a range of cheap places to eat . Student bars and cafés are strung out along Kirkwood Avenue, including the vegetarian Laughing Planet , at no. 322 E Fifth St (tel 812/323-2233). Among the wide range of ethnic restaurants in town are the Tibetan Snow Lion , 113 S Grant Ave (tel 812/336-0835), and the wonderful Siam House , 430 E Fourth St (tel 812/331-1233). The Runcible Spoon , 412 E Sixth St (tel 812/334-3997), is a favorite place for breakfast, coffee and dessert, while the Brewpub at Lennie's , 1795 E Tenth St (tel 812/323-2112), is the best place in town for microbrewed ales.
