Lafayette: Arrival, information and getting around
Greyhound arrives in Lafayette at 315 Lee Ave and Amtrak a few blocks north at 133 E Grant St at Jefferson. There's an airport south of town on Hwy-90. The local bus system is of little use to visitors; to get the best out of the area you'll need a car , as the dance halls, restaurants and hotels are spread out some distance from each other. If you need a taxi , try Yellow Checker Cab (tel 318/237-6196). The Lafayette Parish CVB is at 1400 Evangeline Thruway at Willow Street (Mon-Fri 8.30am-5pm, Sat & Sun 9am-5pm; tel 337/232-3737 or 1-800/346-1958, ).
