New Orleans: Staying safe
Although the heavily touristed French Quarter is comparatively safe, to wander unwittingly beyond it - even just a couple of blocks - can place your personal safety in serious jeopardy. Be careful, and at night always take a cab when traveling any distance outside the Quarter.
