Captain Jefferds inn is set on a quiet side street in the historic district of Kennebunkport, Maine. The inn is one-half block from the harbor, where the rock-lined seacoast offers views of boats coming in to port. Dock Square, Kennebunkport's town center, features specialty boutiques, art galleries, antique shops and a full range of restaurants less than one-quarter mile from the inn.
This 1804 Federal-style mansion, restored in 1996, boasts antiques and period reproductions. Complimentary three-course breakfasts are served in front of a blazing fire in the winter and on a sunny terrace in the summer. Each afternoon the innkeepers set out an array of refreshments in the garden room, including specialty teas, home-baked cookies, cheeses and spreads, fresh-squeezed lemonade and seasonal drinks. Wireless Internet access is complimentary throughout the inn.

Captain Jefferds Inn offers 15 individually decorated guestrooms with Italian-tiled private bathrooms. Select bathrooms offer jetted tubs, claw-foot soaking tubs or double-headed showers. Feather beds are made up with 600-thread-count, cotton sateen sheets, and are topped with down comforters and pillows. Fresh flowers and plants are provided in each room.
