Location. The Woodstock Inn B&B is located in the historical district of Independence, Mo., within one mile of the former home of Harry S. Truman. Two Victorian mansions, the Bingham-Waggoner Estate and the Vaile Mansion, are available for touring less than two miles from the property.
Features. This inn was built in 1900 as a doll and quilt factory, and was converted into a bed and breakfast in 1987. Full, complimentary breakfasts, featuring malted Belgian waffles, fruit crepes and summer garden frittata, are served daily in the dining room. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the inn, and post/parcel service is available. The home is flanked by a garden courtyard featuring a two-person swing, flowers and bird houses. Massages are available for a fee. Pets are not allowed.

Expert Tip. Tickets for touring the Harry S. Truman house can be purchased at the Truman Ticket Center, located eight blocks north of the inn on Independence Square. Guided tours through the home of the 33rd president reveal many personal possessions remaining just as he left them, including his coat and hat hanging by the back door in the kitchen.
