Missouri is the land where Harry Truman and Mark Twain were born. It's where Charlie Parker and Walt Disney spent their formative years. Once the gateway to the Wild West, Lewis and Clark even began their expedition from Missouri. If Missouri is America's soul, Lake of the Ozarks is its heart, veined with slow and mighty rivers cutting through dramatic bluffs and rolling hills. There are more than 5,500 caves in Missouri, most of which are located here. A sprawling forest surrounds the lake with 40,000 square miles of oak and hickory. One of North America's highest fish diversities is found in this region. This is indeed the heartland, and at Lake of the Ozarks, guests will find not just another vacation spot, but another way of living. Guests can enjoy the Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Big Shot Raceways and Fun Park, championship golf courses, helicopter and seaplane tours, Bagnell Dam, and the House of Butterflies, all within a convenient distance from the resort.
