The Taylor House Inn is located in Banner Elk, N.C., in the historic Valle Crucis area of the Watauga River Valley. The inn is less than 12 miles from skiing at Ski Beech, the Sugar Mountain Resort and Hawksnest Ski Resort.
This farmhouse was built for the C.D. Taylor family in 1911, and completed renovation in 1987. The inn offers views of the surrounding valley, and features an herb garden on the grounds. Complimentary full breakfasts, including the inn's signature dish of poached eggs on a bed of smoked salmon and greens, are served each morning. A porch lines the front of the house, and is furnished with chairs and a swing. The property's Milk House Gift Shop sells mugs, books and handmade quilts. Pets are not allowed at this property.

The Taylor House Inn offers two suites and five guestrooms in the main house, and two small, self-contained cottages. All accommodations feature down comforters and handmade quilts. Private bathrooms include original claw-foot tubs or showers. Suites offer private sitting areas.
