Area Activities

Santa Fe is the best place to begin exploring New Mexico.  As the nation's oldest capital city and the center of New Mexico's government, history and culture are around every corner. Surrounded by majestic panoramic southwestern views, Santa Fe is nestled in the foothills of the Sangre Cristo Mountains.  The city is the product of Spanish, Pueblo, Western and European influences.  World-class dining and a renowned opera season haven't changed the relaxed pace of a town that is almost 400 years old. Santa Fe's historic downtown boasts Guadalupe Street, Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, Sweeney Convention Center, Palace of the Governors, The Plaza, Loretto Chapel, Canyon Road and the State Capitol. For those with outdoor recreation in mind, Santa Fe is surrounded by more than 1.5 million acres of National Forest and public land which puts activities like fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, mountain climbing and downhill skiing within easy reach.
