Move west down 46th Street until you hit the Hudson River at Pier 86 and you'll spot the grey hulk of the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum . This old aircraft carrier has a long and distinguished history, including hauling capsules out of the ocean following Mercury and Gemini space missions. It holds an array of modern and vintage air and sea craft including the A-12 Blackbird, the world's fastest spy plane, and the USS Growler , a guided missile submarine.
