A delightful little joint, offering decent soup and sandwiches at bargain prices, and great cakes, cupcakes and pies. Anything with fruit is a must.
Poseidon Bakery

Decadent baklava and other sweet Greek pastries, strudels and cookies, as well as spinach and meat pies. Known for the hand-rolled phyllo dough that it makes on the premises and supplies to many restaurants in the city. Closed Sun and Mon.

Reliably tasty sandwiches on specialty bread, or mini-pizzas with sourdough crust.

The real-life counterpart of Jerry Seinfeld's friend the Soup Nazi, with rich soups highly priced but worth it. Closed in summer.
