Eight miles south of Sandusky, tiny MILAN (pronounced MY-lan ) boasts a pleasant, leafy village square and many well-preserved Greek Revival-style homes. Its most famous building is the two-story brick Thomas Edison Birthplace , 9 Edison Drive (summer Tues-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 1-pm; rest of year Tues-Sun 1-5pm; $5), with guided tours and an adjacent museum dedicated to the inventor of the light bulb.
