The resort town of PORT CLINTON , twelve miles west across the Sandusky Bay Bridge, is a departure point for the Lake Erie Islands. Its pleasant lakefront is dotted with decent cafés and jet ski-rental outlets. Try not to leave the area without exploring the rest of the peninsula, with glorious views particularly around tiny MARBLEHEAD , fourteen miles east of Port Clinton.
