Tulsa's restaurants are diverse and scattered; good options can be found along E 15th Street and S Peoria Avenue in the fashionable Brookside district, while downtown holds several down-home diners.The Bistro At Brookside 3523 S Peoria Ave tel 918/749-7737. Inventive dishes and an extensive wine list in trendy Brookside. The Sunday brunches are well worth sampling.
Bourbon Street Café 1542 E 15th St tel 918/583-5555. Extensive Cajun menu, featuring excellent $5 gumbo. Live jazz Sunday at 7pm.
Camerelli's 1536 E 15th St tel 918/582-8900. Inexpensive but tasty Italian meats and pasta.
Casa Bonita 2120 S Sheridan Rd tel 918/836-6464. Strolling mariachis liven up this enormous restaurant, where large spicy dinners are served in rooms featuring a 20ft waterfall and an "erupting" volcano, among other things.
Metro Diner 3001 E 11th St tel 918/592-2616. Fifties-style diner east of downtown, serving good home-baked pies and chicken-fried steaks, as well as great ice cream sodas.
