The Joseph Ambler Inn is located in North Wales, Pa., approximately 20 miles from historic downtown Philadelphia. Nestled among trees and gardens on 12 acres, the land this bed and breakfast was built on once belonged to William Penn. The inn is located 14 miles from Valley Forge National Park and 15 miles from the National Memorial Arch.
Five separate building constitute the Joseph Ambler Inn. The original portion of the farmhouse was built in 1711 by William Morgan, and additions like the living room, dining room and schoolroom were added later. The barn was erected in 1820 by squire John Roberts, and has been fully renovated to contain a restaurant and guestrooms. The original stonework has been restored, and the double doors to the hayloft are replaced by a French window that extends upwards to provide a view from the second and third floors. The Corybeck, a tenant farmer's cottage, was built in 1929. Two more buildings, the Thomas Wilson House and the John Roberts House were later purchased and moved to the property. Full complimentary breakfasts are available.
