Canyonlands National Park: Canyonlands fees and permits
Canyonlands National Park charges an
entry fee
of $10 per vehicle, $5 for cyclists or hikers, valid for seven days in all sections of the park; a special $25 Local Annual Passport also covers Arches, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges. Only limited numbers of visitors are allowed to spend a night or more in the backcountry;
backpacking permits
, covering up to seven persons in the Needles and Island In The Sky districts, or five in the Maze, cost $20, while
vehicle campsites
, issued for groups of up to three vehicles, are $30.
Reservations
, which though not compulsory are essential for the most popular areas, especially in spring and fall, must be purchased at least two weeks in advance, and picked up in person - with every member of the group present - from the appropriate park visitor center, at least one hour before it closes.
