Richmond: Drinking and nightlife
Richmond's main drinking and nightlife spots are concentrated around the riverside Shockoe Slip and Shockoe Bottom areas, just east of downtown, where you'll find the likes of the Richbrau Brewery , 1214 E Cary St (tel 804/644-3018), a watering hole that's especially lively at weekends; Goodfellas , 1722 E Main St (tel 804/643-5022), a trendy club with a roaring sound system pumping out decent rock music; and the Have a Nice Day Café , 18th and Main (tel 804/771-1700), a cheesy but fun retro-1970s café and nightclub. In the Fan District , try Buddy's Place , 325 N Robinson St (tel 804/355-3701), or the Border Chophouse and Bar , 1501 W Main St (tel 804/355-2907).Between October and June, Theater Virginia (tel 804/367-0831), in the Museum of Fine Arts, is Richmond's best bet for live theater .
