Location. Thatcher Brook Inn is centrally located between Stowe (15 miles) and Sugarbush (20 miles) ski areas in Waterbury, Vt. Not only does the Waterbury/Stowe/Mad River Valley area offer world-class skiing, but also snowmobiling, golfing, horse-drawn carriage rides, river adventures, shopping and entertainment. Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream Factory Tour is a half-mile away. Vermont Teddy Bear Company is 1.4 miles away and Cabot Creamery is 1.6 miles from the inn.
Features. Known as one of Vermont's most romantic getaway inns, Thatcher Brook Inn is comprised of three buildings. A Victorian mansion, built in a grand style in 1899 by lumber baron Stedman Wheeler, was named after the brook flowing nearby. The inn with its landmark twin gazebo, wraparound front porch with high-back rocking chairs and trellised gardens evoke a genteel mood from New England past. There are fireplaces and antiques throughout the inn. A complimentary full country breakfast is served in the dining rooms.

Guestrooms. The Main House is home to 16 charming guestrooms, most of them on the second floor. The Carriage House has two guestrooms with gas-burning fireplaces, jetted tubs and extensive sitting areas. The original home of the lumber baron offers rooms upstairs and downstairs. Each room at the Thatcher Brook Inn, distinctly designed with comfort in mind, is tastefully appointed with antiques. All rooms feature air conditioning, a ceiling fan, telephone and wireless Internet access. Cable television is available in all rooms except for some of the deluxe rooms with a fireplace. The deluxe rooms have either a fireplace or jetted tub.

From Burlington International Airport:
Turn left out of the airport parking lot and continue to the first stoplight.
At the light, turn left onto US 2 and continue straight to the intersection of 2A.
At the intersection, turn right onto 2A and continue for approximately one mile to the on-ramp of I-89 South toward Montpelier.
Take I-89 South to Exit 10 (Waterbury/Stowe, US-2, Route 100).
At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 100 North.
Continue for approximately one mile on Route 100 North, and the Thatcher Brook Inn will be on the left.
If you pass the flashing light and/or see Ben & Jerry's on your left, you have gone too far.
