The Squalicum Lake Cottage overlooks Squalicum Lake and Squalicum Mountain in Bellingham, Wash. The Mount Baker Ski Area offers snowboarding and skiing on challenging slopes, and 13 miles of groomed cross-country trails at Salmon Ridge approximately eight miles away. Hiking and mountain biking trails are available at the ski area in the spring and summer. Two golf courses are within eight miles of the cottage.
The cottage is nestled among cedar and fir trees surrounded by colorful perennial gardens. Right outside the door of the cottage, guests may see a heron or kingfisher in the fish pond. Just 150 feet from the lake, the cottage offer views of fish jumping and flocks of migratory birds. Complimentary breakfasts featuring homemade granola, quiche, waffles with fresh berries and freshly-ground coffee are delivered with fresh flowers to the cottage each morning. Coffee, tea, chocolates and cookies are also provided. Complimentary wireless Internet access and fax service are available. The property offers a rowboat to go fly-fishing on this peaceful, 35-acre lake. No motors are allowed on the lake, which is stocked with cutthroat, rainbow and brown trout. Pets are not allowed at this property.

This secluded cottage offers a front porch with views of the lake and skylights for stargazing. A fully equipped kitchen includes a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, dishes, utensils and cookware. The living room features a vaulted beamed ceiling and large windows overlooking the lake and mountain. The bedroom offers a white iron and brass bed with a pillowtop mattress. Satellite television, a VCR, satellite radio and a CD player are provided.
