Location.Boreas Bed and Breakfast Inn is located oceanfront in Long Beach, Wash. The adjacent public beaches offer kayaking, bird watching, hiking, fishing charters, clamming and horseback riding. A private path winds through the dunes to the Pacific Ocean, where it intersects the eight-mile long, paved Discovery Trail.
Features. This 1920s beach house sits on the high water mark from which Lewis and Clark began their exploration of the Long Beach Peninsula in 1805. Three-course gourmet breakfasts are served daily, including fresh-baked pastries, fruit, hot entrées and organic coffee. Brownies, pistachios and popcorn are always available. A marble fireplace dominates the inn's two large living rooms, which face the dunes and beach. A baby grand piano occupies a spot by a picture window. The inn boasts a private spa tub enclosed in a cedar and glass gazebo.  Full concierge services are provided. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. The five guestrooms at the Boreas Inn feature private bathrooms. Plush signature bathrobes, towels and a full line of complimentary bath products are provided. All rooms include CD players and complimentary wireless Internet access. Accommodations feature hypoallergenic featherbeds and high-thread count sheets.  The Hideaway Suite features a balcony with glimpses of the ocean. The Stargazer offers Battenberg lace accents, botanical art and a bathroom with a skylight. The Pacifica is a pale blue room with a full ocean view.

Expert Tip. The World Kite Museum and Hall of Fame, four blocks from the inn, opened in 1990 and features 1500 kites. The museum's 400 Japanese kites are considered the most complete collection of Japanese kites outside of Japan.

Approximate distance to the property is 116 miles.

Depart the airport and merge onto I-5 North.
Take the Longview/Long Beach Exit.
Loop over the freeway and proceed two miles to the Third Avenue/Industrial Exit.
Turn left off of this exit and stay on the highway through four stoplights.
Follow the signs to Oregon Highway 30.
Turn left onto Oregon Street.
Proceed over the Lewis and Clark Bridge and turn right toward Astoria.
Proceed onto Highway 30 through Astoria and move into the right lane.
Drive over the Astoria/Megler Bridge to the Long Beach Peninsula.
Turn left and drive north through Ilwaco to Long Beach.
