Olympia's visitors center (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; tel 360/586-3460) is on the Capitol Campus, 14th Avenue and Capitol Way. In-town accommodation is geared towards business travelers; the Golden Gavel Motor Hotel , 909 Capitol Way S (tel 360/352-8533; $50-75), usually has the cheapest deals, while the Harbinger Inn , 1136 E Bay Drive (tel 360/754-0389; $75-100), is a pleasant nineteenth-century B&B , offering five rooms with period furnishings a mile from downtown. The new Phoenix Inn , 415 Capitol Way (tel 360/570-0555, ; $130-160), is perhaps the best choice overall, with fridges and microwaves in each room. For real budget rooms you'll have to go further out to one of Tumwater's motels, such as the Holly Motel , 2816 Martin Way (tel 360/943-3000; $35-50), east of town at exit 109 off I-5. There's also camping at forested Millersylvania State Park , 12245 Tilley Rd, south of Olympia, two miles east of I-5 exit 99.
Of places to eat , the Urban Onion , 116 Legion Way (tel 360/943-9242), has delicious burgers for the vegetarian and carnivore alike, while a few blocks away, The Spar at 114 Fourth Ave (tel 360/357-6444), is a diner which has catered to Olympia's working class since 1935. -- location id = 42358 -->
