Spring Green: Practicalities
Spring Green is a pretty place to stay , but prices can be high in summer. Round Barn Lodge , Hwy-14 (tel 608/588-2568, ; $75-100), has a pool, sauna and family dining on a former dairy farm. The Usonian Inn , Hwy-14/Hwy-23 (tel 608/588-2323, ; $50-75), offers alternative, Taliesin-style lodgings. Locals and thespians hang out at The Shed (tel 608/588-9049), an easygoing diner and bar on Lexington Street downtown. The American Players Theatre (tel 608/588-2361, ) performs Shakespeare and other classics in a wooded amphitheater each evening from mid-June to October.
